Signature Distillery Tour

Number of Participants

£35 per person

Spend an hour and a half inside a working, carbon negative rum distillery, with the two people who make the rum.

Every Signature Distillery Tour is run by us, Russ and Gemma. There is no big team here and no script, just the two of us, sixteen people at most, and the distillery we built. It starts with a Signature Serve in your hand, poured on arrival and carried with you, so you are tasting the rum before you have learned how it is made.

Then we walk you through it ourselves. You will smell the molasses raw and dark before anything happens to it, watch it ferment, follow it through the still, and see where it is spiced, casked, bottled and labelled by hand. Because it is us showing you, you can ask anything, and by the end you will know exactly how a bottle of Two Drifters comes to be, because you will have stood beside every step of it with the people who make it.

Next door is the Drifters Rum Bar, built from a tree that fell just down the road. Take a seat while we set out your flight and your tasting sheet, then we spend the rest of the time walking you through the whole range, one liquid at a time, from the clean lift of the white to the building heat of the overproof. Most people leave with a favourite they did not have when they arrived, and plenty stay longer than the hour and a half, which suits us just fine.

Our on site shop has rums, gifts and bits you will not find anywhere else, so you can take a little of Two Drifters home.

We are a five minute stroll from Exeter Airport, with plenty of parking and good public transport if you would rather leave the car and enjoy the flight properly. Because we run every tour ourselves and this is a working distillery, there is just one tour a month, sixteen places, and it books up well ahead. If a month shows no dates, it is already full, so it is worth booking early.
